Welcome to Minneriya National Park Tours. By booking a safari tour, accessing our website, or using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a reservation.

1. Safari Services & Bookings

  • Scope of Service: Minneriya National Park Tours provides private 4×4 jeep safari tours in Minneriya National Park and surrounding parks (Kaudulla National Park and Hurulu Eco Park), including driver-guides, hotel pickups, and admission arrangements.
  • Booking Confirmation: Reservations are considered confirmed upon receipt of a written confirmation sent via email, WhatsApp, or through our website booking system.
  • Inaccurate Information: Guests are responsible for providing correct pickup locations, dates, contact numbers, and guest counts at the time of booking.

2. Hotel Pickups & Transfers

  • Service Areas: Complimentary or standard hotel pickup and drop-off are available for locations in Sigiriya, Habarana, Dambulla, and Kandy (or surrounding areas as specified during booking).
  • Punctuality: Guests must be ready at the designated hotel lobby or meeting point at the agreed pickup time. Delays caused by guests exceeding 15 minutes may result in a shortened safari duration to maintain the scheduled park entry window.

3. National Park Rules & Guest Conduct

All guests must adhere to the rules and guidelines set by the Department of Wildlife Conservation Sri Lanka and our drivers/guides:

  • Stay Inside Vehicles: Guests must remain inside the safari jeep at all times except at designated, authorized rest stops inside the park.
  • Wildlife Respect: Feeding, shouting at, provoking, or throwing objects at elephants or other wildlife is strictly prohibited.
  • Environmental Responsibility: Littering inside the national park is illegal. All trash must be kept inside the jeep for disposal after the safari.
  • Alcohol & Smoking: Smoking and consumption of alcohol inside national parks are prohibited by Sri Lankan law.

We reserve the right to terminate the tour immediately without a refund if any guest displays reckless, dangerous, or illegal behavior.

4. Wildlife Sightings & Dynamic Park Rerouting

  • Wild Animals: Minneriya National Park is a natural wildlife sanctuary. While elephant sightings are exceptionally high (especially during the Great Elephant Gathering), animals move freely. We cannot guarantee specific animal sightings or herd sizes.
  • Park Switching: Elephant herds naturally migrate between Minneriya, Kaudulla, and Hurulu Eco Park. To ensure you have the best possible experience, our expert trackers may recommend switching your safari to the neighboring park with the highest active elephant concentration on that day.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

All cancellations, date modifications, and refund requests are governed by our 100% Fully Refundable Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellations made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled safari time are eligible for a 100% full refund.
  • Cancellations within 24 hours of departure or no-shows are non-refundable.
  • Government park tickets already purchased on your behalf are non-refundable per Department of Wildlife regulations.

6. Health, Safety & Liability

  • Inherent Risks: Wildlife safaris involve travel in off-road 4×4 vehicles over uneven terrain within wild habitats. Guests participate at their own risk.
  • Physical Fitness: Guests with pre-existing medical conditions (e.g., severe back issues, neck injuries, or late-stage pregnancy) should inform us prior to booking.
  • Personal Belongings: We are not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal items, cameras, electronics, or luggage during transfers or safaris.
  • Travel Insurance: We strongly advise all international guests to hold comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, personal luggage, and tour disruptions.

7. Force Majeure

Minneriya National Park Tours shall not be held liable or responsible for failure or delay in performing safari services caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These include severe weather, flash floods, government park closures, strikes, civil unrest, or acts of nature. In such cases, full refunds or alternative dates will be offered where applicable.

8. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Sri Lankan courts.
